For the kindness of Revolution

Image
Make me an instrument of your peace Where there is hatred let me show love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, joy. Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. It is in dying that we are born to eternal life. (Jenifer Chalk)

TWO How could i be doing this with a total stranger, a guy. I’ve never had a close relationship with a guy before. My uncle never had a son and i was the only child of my parents at ten. Though my mum was pregnant during the accident.Who knows,it might have been a boy if not for fate.We finally sat down on the stools provided opposite each other in the cafeteria.A plump lady in charge gave us the menu.I decided to go for a snack and tamarind drink since it had the lowest price on the list.Jude glared at me and shook his head in disapproval when he saw what i ordered. He collected the menu from my hands and told the lady to bring what he ordered for two. Then he said to me”What you chose wasn’t my treat at all,how would you get that voluptuous body if you keep eating things like this and looking thin”.Thin? Was i so thin...and what did he mean by voluptuous body. I’m not about getting something like that. The lady brought the food and we started eating in silence.I prayed the silence ...

MOST RICHLY BLESSED

Image
Sometimes I Wonder when things go so wrong has God forsaken and left me alone? Then I remebered through trials and distress He's always with me. I am most richly blessed. I asked God for strength , that I might achieve I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey. I asked for health, that I might do greater things I was given infirmity, that I might do better things. I asked for riches that I might be happy, I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men, I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life I got nothing that I asked for, but everything that I had hoped for, and almost despite myself. My unspoken prayers were answered He's always with me. I am most richly blessed.     ( Originally written by Jimmy Dean)

RISK

Image
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out is to risk involvement. To express feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying To hope is to risk despair To try is to risk failure.

ONE I want a ripe apple; I want a ripe apple dad.”I said as I ran towards my father who was watering the plants in his orchard just behind the main house.”You want a ripe apple?”my dad asked. I nodded in affirmation just to catch him glimpsing at me. He smiled, dropped the watering can on the floor and said “Now, show me how bad you want to get the ripe apple”. It was as though i was waiting to hear those words from him; I held his hands and ran with him towards the apple tree. I pointed at a ripe one and turned back to look at my dad. He smiled and said “c’mon, I’m waiting to see how you want to get it”. I began to jump up severally. I ran around the tree looking for where to place my little hands so i could start climbing. I started running but then my dad caught me and said” i see you really want a ripe apple, and for what you’ve done, you deserve a ripe apple....daddy’s going to get one for his little angel this time”. WHY CHRISTENED "BOXING DAY" ?

Image
What is the Boxing Day about?  The origin of Boxing Day are steeped in mystery, but there are a number of theories as to how the day emanated and got christened.  One suggestion is that the name comes from the centuries old tradition whereby churches would leave money boxes out for the poor on Christmas Day, before opening them on December 26. Another says that large sailing ships would carry a sealed box of coins on board for good luck. Upon the ship’s successful return, the box would be given to a church and the money handed to poor at Christmas.   However, the best known theory states that Boxing Day is named after the practice of wealthy aristocrats giving boxes and gifts to their servants one day after Christmas.  Traditionally, servants would work on Christmas Day but were given the next day off to spend with their families. As well as the UK, Boxing Day is celebrated in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and some other Commonweal...
