What is a Mindset? Your mindset is the sum of your knowledge, including beliefs and thoughts about the world and yourself in it. It is your filter for information you get in and put out. So it determines how you receive and react information. It’s often used for a specific part in your life, as in “the mindset of an entrepreneur” or “the growth mindset”. And having the right mindset for what you go for is often the biggest factor. Developing the right mindset is then the way learning something new and strip out the most relevant information. Then you develop the beliefs that are most helpful for where you want to go or how you want to be. This belief-system is then your mindset. And I think a good mindset will reflect reality and will help you. But not in that order. I think the order has to be like this: 1. Find the beliefs that are most supportive 2. Check if the beliefs are in harmony with (a potential) reality You want to use your mindset to make a positive change . That...

The nature of mindsets part 2. We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.” — Buckminster Fuller

The three basic mindsets “The most important question anyone can ask is: What myth am I living?” — Carl Jung While everyone’s mindset is unique there are some common types that are useful to be aware of. This includes the Fixed, Growth and Benefit Mindsets which reflect common beliefs people hold about the nature of learning and leadership. A Fixed Mindset is symbolised by the everyday expert. “In a Fixed Mindset people believe their basic abilities, their intelligence, their talents, are fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that’s that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb.” —  Carol Dweck A Growth Mindset is symbolised by the everyday learner. “In a Growth Mindset people understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort and persistence. They don’t necessarily think everyone’s the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.” —  Carol Dweck A Benefit Mi...

The nature of mindsets by Ash Buchanan A primer on how our underlying beliefs, attitudes and assumptions create our everyday lives — and our shared world Mindsets shape the lives we lead, the actions we take and the future possibilities of the world we live in. In this primer, we provide an overview of what mindsets are, why they matter and explore a range of practices you can use to be mindful about how and why you use them. What is a Mindset? “Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.” — Mahatma Gandhi Eight principles can be used to describe the underlying nature of mindsets. 1) Mindsets are habits of mind The word mindset was first used in the 1930’s to mean “habits of mind formed by previous experience.” In simple terms, mindsets are deeply held beliefs, attitudes and assumptions we create about who we are and h...

The power of Commitment. You cannot keep a commited person from success. Place stumbling blocks in his way, and he takes them for steppingstone, and on them he will climb to greatness

"I can't imagine a person becoming a success who doesn't give this game of life everything he's got". You cannot keep a commited person from success. Place stumbling blocks in his way, and he takes them for steppingstone, and on them he will climb to greatness. Take away his money and he makes spur of his poverty to urge him on. The person who succeeds has program; he fixes his course and adheres to it; he lays his plans and executes them; he goes straight to his goals. He is not pushed this side and that, every time a difficulty is thrust in his way, if he cannot go over it, he goes through it. Commitment takes a person to a whole new level when it comes to success Thanks for reading, dont forget to drop your comments so we can serve you better.

The Power of Ideas and Leadership. All leaders have these two things in common :They are going somewhere, and they are able to persuade others to go with them.

Influence Others: Every thing rises and falls on leadership because a person's ability to make things happen in and through others depends entirely on their ability to lead them. Without leadership, there is no team work, and people go thier own way. If you dream big, you will require the teamwork of a group of people, then any potential leaders you select to go with you on the journey will need to be people of influence. That's what leadership is - Influence. And when you think about it, all leaders have these two things in common :They are going somewhere, and they are able to persuade others to go with them. There is nothing powerful than an idea whose time has come. Idea are the greatest resource a successful person could ever have, and when you surround yourself with creative people, you are never at loss for inspiring ideas. If you and the people around you continually generate good ideas, all of you have better opportunities to reach your potential. Fro...

The things I have learnt. As I grow older I pay less attention to what people say, I just watch what they do.

It is in this whole process of meeting and solving problem that life has meaning. Problem  are the cutting edge that distinguishes between success and failure, problem call forth our courage and wisdom;indeed they create our courage and wisdom. It is only because of problem that wisdom we grow mentally and spiritually...... It is through the pain of confronting and resolving problems that we learn. (M. Scott Peck). Over time I have learned this meaningful lesson: The people closest to me determine my level of success or failure, the better they are, the better I am and if I want to go to the highest level, I can do it only with the help of the other people, we have to help each other higher (Seguns Ayansina) As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people say, I just watch what they do. (Andrew Carnegie) The ones I want around me are people who make things happen. These people discover resources in a place that were barren. They find prospects where you thought none e...
