Photography in 21st century. Photographers have a personal and ethical responsibility to address the issues of unscrupulous, deceitful image creation and publication

Image
It is time for photographers to accept the realities of their new responsibilities and to embrace the possibilities of their new role in visual storytelling. Photographers have a personal and ethical responsibility to address the issues of unscrupulous, deceitful image creation and publication—as do the institutions that they previously looked to too provide authenticity. It is no longer acceptable to play the ignorance card. The role of the 21st century photographer has changed and is constantly evolving. It is therefore the responsibility of the engaged photographer to understand that reality and to respond to those changes. Not purely in word, but also in deed. Just as the role of photography changes within the digital communication environment, so does the role of the person who is evolved in creating photography. We are not living in a post-photographic world, but we are living within a new-photographic one and that change demands a new type of photographer.  I’m so h...

Image
I commit myself today to being successful. I recogise that success is a process, not a destination. I will discover my dream and do what I can to... Know my purpose in life.  Grow to reach my Max life potential and so seeds that benefit others.  Although the road may get bumpy and it may require me to learn a new way of looking at life.  I will do what it takes and persevere.  I will take the success journey.  So help me Lord.

How to Keep a good personality. Reach out for your goals; If at first you dont succeed, try again.

Image
If you want to better yoursef and your personality, here are some suggestions.  Do one thing at a time, shoot for one goal at a time.  Live in the present; grasp today fully.  Forget the mistakes of yesterday; let them be gone forever.  Stop nagging yourself and others.  Seek self improvement earnestly.  Cultivate self respect through a honest self-appraisal.  Learn to listen to others, it liberates you from been bias.  Reach out for your goals; If at first you dont succeed, try again.  Venture into conversations, do not be timid even if you make a mistake.  Exercise imagination and initiative to achieve success.  Keep your self image regulated, let it pulse and enthusiasm never fall with despair.  Finally: Never forget to spend a moment every day thanking God that you can feel great about your self.

Character:The best index to a person’s character is how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and how he treats people who can’t fight back.

Image
YOU CANNOT GET BY PRAYER WHAT YOU SHOULD GET BY CHARACTER & OBEDIENCE A man’s character is his fate Heraclitus Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States (US), said: “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” As a clergyman, I have watched pitiably how people self-sabotage themselves by seeking spiritual solutions to character-deficit issues. They look around at everybody as suspects for their predicaments when their greatest demons lurks within them their character. What we often call our destiny is truly our character, and since that character can change, then destiny can be altered. Character is destiny. Is prayer actually EVERYTHING? Many would begin to argue back and forth on this intriguing question, but my main purpose of writing this piece is not to get involved in arguments. Arguments don’t improve the validity of a ‘truth;’ they only determi...

Three Reasons Why Good Leaders Spend Time Planning It's not about the plan, it's about the planning.

Image
Who wants to spend valuable time planning and preparing when  you can just dive in , right? Let's just dive in, get to work, and see what happens. Then, let's do it again, because it is sure to be a failure the first time. That's how it works. You can jump in without a plan, but it's going to be a waste of your time since  you will just have to do it over again . Have you ever heard the quote "Failing to plan is planning to fail?" That essentially means if you don't put a plan in place, you can expect to fail each and every time. If you  prefer to do it right the first time , adhere to the 5P rule: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. In other words, if you want to be a success, you better start planning. Just how does planning help you succeed? Check these reasons out. Planning Creates Focus If you don't have a plan, you won't have a focus. You'll go in numerous directions, trying to figure out what to d...

Traits of Highly Effective mind. Whatever you set your sights upon, discipline is the vehicle that will get you there.

Image
An effective mindset is one that makes the best use of available resources – your time, energy and efforts – and uses them to create positive change. It’s not about trying to do everything and be everything; it’s making the very best of what you have while enjoying the process of living. Here are seven effective traits and behaviors of such a mindset: 1.  Enjoys and appreciates the present moment. Happiness is a mindset that can only be designed into the present. It’s not a point in the future or a moment from the past; but sadly, this misconception hurts the masses. So many young people seem to think that happiness awaits them in the years ahead, while so many older people believe that their best moments are behind them. The truth is, the greater part of your happiness or misery depends solely upon your attitude towards any given moment, regardless of the events contained within. You need much less than you think you need to be happy, and you usually have a lot more than yo...

The Mistake in Respect. What really baffles me in this area is the essence of serving fathers with two, three or more chunks of meats, fishes or eggs as the case may be......

Image
African culture is a  noble culture known to take respect for elders sacrosanct. The Nigerian culture also portrays these, the Yoruba ethnic group in South Western region of Nigeria makes respect second-to-none, the younger ones are  not given  chances to disrespect the elderly, even if the person is just one year older. Infact, the Yoruba cultural setting believes your parents are your god (which I believe  is the same with majority of African culture) and due respect should be accorded to them. As a matter of fact, the father is the head of the home, so all due honour and respect must be accorded to him. This fact is also uphold by most religious teachings. Food is one of the main stay for human survival both for the Young and old. Respect is also not left out in this area. In most family settings, wives must accord the husband some respect in serving his food, the man's food is served first before others. What really baffles me in this area is the essence ...

The right mindset. Examine your mindset by looking at your current belief-system. Are these beliefs supporting you? Or are there self limiting beliefs ? You have to identify those possible blocks and turn them around.

Image
What is a Mindset? Your mindset is the sum of your knowledge, including beliefs and thoughts about the world and yourself in it. It is your filter for information you get in and put out. So it determines how you receive and react information. It’s often used for a specific part in your life, as in “the mindset of an entrepreneur” or “the growth mindset”. And having the right mindset for what you go for is often the biggest factor. Developing the right mindset is then the way learning something new and strip out the most relevant information. Then you develop the beliefs that are most helpful for where you want to go or how you want to be. This belief-system is then your mindset. And I think a good mindset will reflect reality and will help you. But not in that order. I think the order has to be like this: 1. Find the beliefs that are most supportive 2. Check if the beliefs are in harmony with (a potential) reality You want to use your mindset to make a positive change . That...
